Do you need power?
Any known organism is biologically, structurally and functionally made up of many million cells. This is a proven fact which we cannot argue with. But, are organisms only made up of cells? No.
Batteries are also made up of cells. What is so fascinating about them that they have the concept of cells in common with us living things?
Maybe people, back then, thought both organisms and batteries are both powerful parts of the universe. Jokes apart, in one way or the other, they were right!
Now things bring us to the topic for the day - batteries.
Batteries - mini magic:
Single A, Double A, Triple A, a lot more and hey, we have used all forms of it. Isn’t it magical to have power in our pockets? These things, though small, help us in doing many things in our day to day life.
Right from changing a channel in your TV, or switching on the AC etc. they give us a lot more ability to make things going in life. If people cannot live with electricity, people cannot live without batteries either.

Over the last decade, a rough estimate tells that 3 billion batteries are bought by American just to keep their radios, transistors, remotes, etc. alive. And, do you know what is more interesting? There are many other types of batteries as well!

Power comes with a price:
The facts might have given you goosebumps, but there is something dangerous in them too, which needs to be pondered. A lot of batteries produced per year means a lot of battery goes out every now and then.
Our poor champion can empower us for sometime only, later he dies. Nothing to worry, we replace champions and resume the work. But, what about the older ones that are disposed of?
Batteries have a lot of toxic and heavy metals which are to be taken severe care of. They have also evolved over the years from liquid to solid to prevent many problems. Nevertheless, they still carry toxic materials.
That leaves us with a question. Are we living our present and ruining our future, by throwing away the batteries and contaminating the world? Unfortunately, yes. What can we do instead is.. Will follow.
